WHAT IS TODAY’S TREASURE? An article that briefly explains how to use Google Maps to help you remember where you parked your car! Unlike some of the other app-related things I’ve shared in the past, this one applies to both iPhones and Android phones!
HOW’D YOU DISCOVER IT?
I had been reading a Lifehacker article about how one can ask Google Assistant on smartphones to remember where a car is parked. The article actually mentioned that there are some kinks to that method, and it had linked another article that pointed out a more reliable way (but still using Google).
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?
1. It’s succinct. If it really came down to it, you can just look at the bullet list on how to utilize the feature.
2. It points out a sub-feature that might bother some users. I like how the article mentions that the notifications can get a little hairy, especially for Android users. A workaround is suggested, which is a bonus.
HOW MIGHT THIS BE USEFUL FOR ME?
This one is self-explanatory. If you often have trouble finding your car in a parking lot (especially bigger ones), this one can be a game-changer.
ANY FINAL COMMENTS?For a large outdoor parking lot/area, I imagine this would be very useful. However, I’m wondering if it might not be as useful in a more vertical parking area (like a parking garage). My “go to” method in parking garages is usually taking a picture of the general area and/or floor number/letter. Nonetheless, I think I’m going to give this one a try the next time around!
